Job summary

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of instructional practices for specially designed instruction.
• Knowledge of state and federal policies for services to students with disabilities.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office and Google Apps.
• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
• Hold or be eligible for NC Professional Educator's License in Exceptional Children's teaching.
• Must hold a valid motor vehicle operator's license according to NC requirements.
• First Aid and CPR certifications (preferred).
• CPI certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develops IEPs for students with disabilities; updates IEPs as needed.
• Implements instructional strategies and progress monitoring tools.
• Assists students in completing curriculum tasks and IEP goals.
• Employs varied teaching methods and adapts materials to meet needs.
• Monitors student behavior and maintains classroom discipline.
• Evaluates student work and coordinates progress/report cards.
• Attends IEP meetings and serves as a collaborative team member.
• Keeps current on trends and best practices through PD and professional networks.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
