Job summary

KIPP New Orleans is seeking passionate teachers to join a mission-driven team dedicated to ensuring every student has access to a high-quality education. You will deliver rigorous instruction, use data to inform planning, and collaborate with ESL/DSS staff to support multilingual learners and students with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree

• Two years teaching experience in urban, open enrollment schools
• Demonstrated success raising student achievement outcomes
• State issued teaching credential

Responsibilities

• Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction using HQIM; communicate daily objectives and success criteria.
• Plan/adapt units and lessons that build conceptual understanding; script questions, models, exemplars, and anticipated misconceptions; align tasks to standards.
• Use data to drive instruction: analyze daily work, interims, and state assessments; reteach, spiral, and extend; maintain data trackers.
• Differentiate and scaffold using diverse strategies; provide accommodations/modifications with fidelity for students with IEP/504 plans; coordinate with DSS/ESL staff.
• Structure purposeful practice—independent work, small groups, centers, and peer discourse with evidence and academic language.
• Provide timely, actionable feedback tied to rubrics; maintain accurate grades and make-up work systems.
• Compliance & planning: design common assessments and meet deadlines; document progress and plans.
