Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education, a ChanceLight company, is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for our elementary learning centers in Illinois. You will design engaging, standards-aligned instruction for students with IEPs, deliver differentiated lessons, and collaborate with families and staff to support growth.

This role emphasizes PBIS, data-driven planning, and flexible use of curriculum resources and assistive tech to meet diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or related field.
• IL PEL credential either current or in process.
• IL SSE or LBS1 credential either current or in process.
• Ability to obtain crisis management certification.
• Experience with curriculum development and differentiation.
• Experience with IEPs and special education services.
• Proficient with educational software and MS Office.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to respond well in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead instruction for elementary students with IEPs in learning centers or classrooms.
• Deliver differentiated and targeted instruction with co-teaching when needed.
• Develop and update IEPs, goals, and interventions.
• Prepare detailed lesson plans aligned to standards.
• Use PBIS strategies and track student progress.
