Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education seeks a Special Education Teacher for elementary students in an on-site program in Illinois. The role focuses on leading instructional delivery for students with IEPs, designing personalized lessons, and coordinating with staff to support diverse needs within a learning center and classroom.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education or a closely related field.
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an IL professional educator (PEL) credential.
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an IL state SSE or LBS1 credential.
• Ability to obtain and maintain certification in crisis management training.
• Experience with curriculum development, differentiation and instruction in alternative/special education settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional process for Elementary School students with IEPs, designing personalized learning experiences.
• Deliver targeted instruction and utilize innovative curriculum resources and educational software.
• Create comprehensive lesson plans and schedules aligned to standards and student goals.
• Implement PBIS strategies and manage a supportive classroom environment.
• Develop and implement IEP goals and interventions; track and report progress.
