Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist in Content Development to create and review test items for K-12 assessments across the United States. You will work with educators, psychometricians, and AI tools to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with standards.

You will help design item specifications, test blueprints, and review processes, while training writers and collaborating on client-facing activities. This role emphasizes innovation and educational equity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent required.
• Five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher preferred.
• Professional knowledge of content area and educational trends required.
• Experience with large-scale educational measurement preferred.
• Familiarity with AI-supported content development and prompting AI-generated content.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across multiple grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Develop item, passage, and test specifications, item development plans, and test blueprints.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to ensure quality and accessibility of assessment content.
• Collaborate with team to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows.
• Select, train, and manage item writers and educators to develop items based on standards.
