Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist within the Content Development team to shape K-12 assessments for U.S. state and district clients.

You will develop and review test items, including MCQs, TE items, and performance tasks, while leveraging AI tools to enhance content and accessibility. You will collaborate with educators, psychometricians, and Pearson groups to create standards-based content, manage writers, and support customers throughout planning and review meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent experience.
• Five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher preferred.
• Strong knowledge of content area and educational trends.
• Experience with AI-assisted content development or potential.
• Experience or familiarity with prompting and evaluating AI-generated content.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn new AI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Help develop item, passage, and test specifications and blueprints.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support content development and ensure accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with team to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows.
• Select, train, and manage item/passage writers and educators.
• Support customer meetings with content assessment expertise.
• Facilitate test construction and review of test forms.
• Consult with customers as required and participate in planning meetings.
• Work with test development managers, content developers, psychometricians, and Pearson groups.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies in educational content creation.
