Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist to join the Content Development team to create and review K-12 assessment content for state and district clients across the United States.

You will develop test items (MC, TE, extended response, performance tasks), collaborate with educators and psychometricians, and leverage AI tools to ensure accessible, high-quality content. A strong background in education and prior teaching experience are preferred, with opportunities to mentor writers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent experience.
• Five years’ teaching experience in elementary or secondary settings preferred.
• Strong knowledge of content area and educational trends.
• Experience with AI-supported content development or strong potential to use AI in content creation.
• Familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for education.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across multiple grade levels.
• Create item/passage/test specifications and blueprints.
• Use AI-powered tools to support content development and quality standards.
• Collaborate with educators, psychometricians, and Pearson groups.
• Lead and train item writers and educators to develop standards-based items.
• Support customer meetings and test construction reviews.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies for assessment content.
