Job summary

Pearson seeks a Specialist to join the Content Development team, developing K-12 assessments for state and district clients. You will be a content and assessment expert, collaborating with educators, committees, and partners to create accessible, standards-based assessments across the United States.

You will leverage AI-powered tools, manage writers, and support the test construction process while staying current with AI innovations. Some travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, content-specific area, or equivalent
• Five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in the field of content-specific area preferred
• Professional knowledge of content-specific area and educational trends required
• Some experience in large-scale, educational measurement preferred
• Demonstrated excellence in AI-supported content development, or clear evidence of strong potential and readiness to leverage AI effectively in content creation
• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for education purposes
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across multiple grade levels for large-scale assessments
• Help develop item, passage, and test specifications, and test blueprints
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support development and ensure accessibility standards
• Collaborate with team to integrate AI assets in assessment workflows
• Select, manage, and train item/writer educators
• Facilitate customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise
• Work with test development managers, psychometricians, and Pearson groups
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies in educational content creation
• Some travel required
• Perform other duties as assigned
