Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Bellevue, WA, invites new graduate nurses to join an Infusion RN residency at the Overlake Medical Center Clinic. The program pairs residents with preceptors to learn chemotherapy administration, supportive care, and patient education within oncology and immunotherapy settings.

The residency emphasizes safety, evidence-based practice, and teamwork across disciplines, with onboarding and structured shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have a current Washington State Registered Nurse Multistate License (MSL) or be eligible to obtain WA MSL within 60 days of hire.
• Oncology nursing experience is preferred; will receive additional training.
• Current BLS certification required with renewal every two years.
• ONS Chemotherapy Provider Card required within 3 months of hire.
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking and time management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and educate patients and families.
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing; 2 years RN Oncology experience in ambulatory infusion setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs; develop a plan of care.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on disease processes, treatment, side effects, and symptom management.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care; refer to social work, dietitian, and other resources as needed.
• Implement, evaluate, and modify the plan of care; integrate research and evidence-based knowledge into practice.
• Infusion RN responsibilities: administer IV therapies, chemotherapy/biotherapy, hydration, and blood products; manage safe handling of hazardous drugs; provide patient education.
