Job summary

Local Infusion is seeking an Insurance & Intake Coordinator, an "Infusion Guide," to support revenue cycle and patient care. The role is onsite in Riverhead, NY, with M-F, 8:00am–4:30pm hours and a focus on insurance authorizations, financial counseling, and patient communication.

The Infusion Guide will engage with referring providers, document requirements for treatment, and ensure patients receive high-quality infusion care.

Qualifications

• Experience reading medical charts and handling insurance pre-authorizations.
• Familiar with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology used in infusion care.
• Healthcare industry experience required.

Responsibilities

• Handle infusion referral process and obtain authorizations.
• Coordinate with referring providers and communicate status of patients.
• Explain referral process and status to patients clearly.
• Coordinate with prescribing providers on treatment documentation.
• Maintain medical inventory and office supplies.
• Complete a structured 6-week training plan to onboard successfully.
