The Patient Support Specialist role centers on ensuring refill readiness, accurate documentation, and proactive communication with patients and providers.

You’ll join a team that prioritizes empathy, professionalism, and high standards while navigating regulatory requirements to keep patients on therapy safely and on schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Current Pharmacy Technician registration and/or certification (within 60 days of hire).
• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.
• Experience with data entry, healthcare systems, and medical terminology.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and related technology platforms.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate prescription refills, outreach, and documentation for specialty or infusion therapy.
• Communicate professionally with patients and providers to gather information and renewals.
• Submit insurance re-authorizations and prior authorizations as needed.
• Ask screening questions and escalate concerns to a pharmacist to ensure compliance.
• Maintain accurate patient records and insurance documentation in systems.
• Collaborate daily with pharmacy operations teams to support dispensing, shipping, and refill coordination.
• Adhere to state Board of Pharmacy regulations, HIPAA, and applicable laws.
