Job summary

Sunrock Industries is seeking a Project Engineer (Construction / Infrastructure) to support planning, coordination, and execution of infrastructure and construction projects from pre-construction through completion.

You will assist in estimating scope, coordinating schedules, managing material flow, and supporting project financial performance while working closely with superintendents, subcontractors, and customers to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 1–5 years of experience in construction, project coordination, or estimating preferred.
• Experience with NCDOT, municipal, or heavy civil projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in estimating project scope, costs, and bid preparation.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and support development of construction estimates.
• Review project plans, specifications, and contracts for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate schedules, materials, and subcontractors with field operations.
• Track project progress, timelines, and deliverables.
• Support project financial tracking, billing, and cost control.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including change orders and reports.
• Communicate project updates with internal teams, customers, and stakeholders.
• Assist in managing subcontractor performance and scheduling.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, MSHA, OSHA, and project requirements.
• Monitor quality of work and adherence to project specifications.
• Support continuous improvement and process efficiency initiatives.
• Provide leadership through collaboration and accountability.
• Perform other duties as assigned
