Job summary

Sunrock is seeking a Project Engineer to support planning, coordination, and execution of infrastructure and construction projects in North Carolina. You will assist in estimating scope, coordinate schedules, manage material flow, and contribute to project financial performance.

You will work with superintendents, subcontractors, and customers to deliver safe, efficient, and profitable projects. This role offers a path toward a Project Manager position within a dynamic construction environment,

Qualifications

• Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and technical documents.
• Estimate project scope and costs; perform quantity takeoffs.
• Review plans, specs, and contracts for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate schedules, materials, and subcontractors with field operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in estimating project scope, costs, and bid preparation.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and support development of construction estimates.
• Review project plans, specifications, and contracts for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate schedules, materials, and subcontractors with field operations.
• Track project progress, timelines, and deliverables.
• Support project financial tracking, billing, and cost control.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including change orders and reports.
• Communicate project updates with internal teams, customers, and stakeholders.
• Assist in managing subcontractor performance and scheduling.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and project requirements.
• Monitor quality of work and adherence to project specifications.
• Support continuous improvement and process efficiency initiatives.
• Provide leadership through collaboration and accountability.
