Job summary

Sunrock is seeking a Project Engineer to support the planning, coordination, and execution of infrastructure and construction projects from pre-construction through completion. You’ll help estimate scope, coordinate schedules, manage materials, and assist in maintaining project financials, working with superintendents, subcontractors, and customers to drive safe, efficient, and profitable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in CM/Engineering or related field.
• 1–5 years in construction, project coordination, or estimating preferred.
• Experience with NCDOT, municipal, or heavy civil projects preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist in estimating project scope, costs, and bid preparation.
• Review plans, specifications, and contracts for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate schedules, materials, and subcontractors with field operations.
• Track project progress, timelines, and deliverables.
• Support project financial tracking, billing, and cost control.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation including change orders.
• Communicate project updates with teams and stakeholders.
• Ensure safety policies and project requirements compliance.
• Support continuous improvement and process efficiency.
