Job summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Operations Manager to lead the design, implementation, and operation of IT infrastructure for a high-visibility Health IT effort in Rockville, MD. The role involves coordinating multiple infrastructure domains, budgets, and vendor relationships while ensuring systems meet HHS standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 10+ years of related experience and 5+ years in managing projects.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
• Ability to lead teams and make critical decisions, resolve conflicts, and manage multiple projects.
• Experience with Infrastructure Operations including NOC/SOC, Data Center Operations.
• Experience hosting effective virtual presentations using collaboration tools.
• Proficient with Azure, AWS, and AI technologies; understanding of DNS in on-prem and cloud.
• Budget planning and management; strong risk management principles.
• Knowledge of Incident, Request, Problem, Configuration, and Change Management practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation and maintain designated service delivery infrastructure, including network, storage, server, virtualization, operating system, platform, middleware, and applications.
• Lead planning, execution, and operation of infrastructure systems and projects aligned with customer requirements.
• Ensure the successful operation of systems in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.
• Maintain maximum availability of production systems per SLAs.
• Evaluate, recommend and install tools for infrastructure operations and report problems.
• Troubleshoot and escalate issues with customer and management.
• Implement and manage scheduling tools for job execution and interdependencies.
• Participate in meetings, provide agendas and minutes for face-to-face and online meetings.
• Provide weekly updates and monthly status/invoice reports for progress, cost, schedule, QA, configuration management, and security services.
• Support Change management, communications, and training for adoption of new services.
• Identify and mitigate risks and develop contingency plans.
• Manage project budgets and ensure alignment with available resources.
• Monitor procurement for HW/SW licenses and maintenance; notify expirations per government SLA.
• Support budgeting processes and projection of annual operational costs.
