Job summary

American Global is seeking a Contractual Risk Manager to join our Infrastructure team. You will analyze major construction and infrastructure agreements, focusing on risk allocation, indemnification, and insurance requirements.

Working with legal, insurance, and project teams, you will review contracts including design-build and P3, support negotiations, and help develop practical risk management strategies across heavy civil, buildings, data centers, and water projects.

Qualifications

• JD or equivalent legal qualification.
• Proven experience in construction, infra, or energy law.
• Deep knowledge of contract analysis, negotiation, indemnification and risk allocation.
• Ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical business risk guidance.

Responsibilities

• Contractual Risk Analysis: Analyze major construction and infrastructure agreements focusing on risk allocation, indemnification, insurance requirements, and other key provisions.
• Contract Negotiation & Client Advisory: Support clients through negotiations by identifying exposures and giving guidance on risk allocation, indemnities, and insurance terms.
• Insurance & Risk Advisory: Evaluate contract requirements and project risk profiles to develop risk management and insurance strategies.
• Insurance Policy Analysis: Assess coverages, exclusions, limitations, and coverage history in relation to project exposure.
• Cross-Functional Risk Guidance: Bridge between contractors, legal teams, and insurance professionals to translate provisions into practical risk considerations.
• Project Agreement Review: Review JV agreements, design agreements, and subcontractor agreements with focus on indemnities and liability allocation.
• Business Development & Growth: Collaborate on client strategies and opportunities from research and industry trends.
• Thought Leadership: Contribute to articles, panels, and presentations to build visibility in construction risk.
