Job summary

Coinbase is seeking an Infrastructure Lead on the Exchange team to own the network infrastructure, deployment, and tooling behind a unified trading platform across cloud and on-prem environments. You will ensure ultra-low-latency, resilient trading systems for institutional clients and collaborate with SRE, Infra, and trading teams.

The role emphasizes ownership, on-call readiness, and mentoring engineers to improve reliability and developer velocity in a high-stakes finance setting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in network/infrastructure/SRE with production ownership in latency-sensitive environments.
• Deep hands-on in multicast, BGP, OSPF, VRFs, and data-center switching.
• Experience leading live incident response and cross-functional resolution during market events.

Responsibilities

• Own and optimize ultra-low-latency networks and data-center infrastructure for institutional trading.
• Design routing, segmentation, and market-data architectures across cloud and on-prem.
• Deploy and operate firewalls (Fortinet/Palo Alto) and secure connectivity.
• Drive observability with telemetry and network automation using Python or Ansible.
• Lead production changes, run incident response drills, and participate in on-call rotations.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with SRE/Infra, Product, and trading teams to improve reliability.
