Coinbase is seeking an Infrastructure Lead on the Exchange team within Institutional to own network infrastructure, deployment, and observability for a unified trading platform spanning cloud and on-prem environments. You’ll shape latency-sensitive systems with startup-like ownership and Coinbase scale.

You will mentor engineers, lead incident response, and drive reliability across cross-functional teams, including SRE/Infra, Product, and trading systems, to deliver fast, secure, and scalable

Qualifications

• 8 years of network, infrastructure, or SRE engineering experience with ownership of production systems in latency-sensitive environments.
• Hands-on expertise with multicast networking, BGP, OSPF, VRFs, high-availability architectures, and low-latency data-center switching.
• Proven ability to lead live incident response for production trading systems and coordinate cross-functional resolution.
• Experience with Fortinet or Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, SNMP or gRPC telemetry, and network automation using Python or Ansible.
• Familiarity with exchange or electronic trading system concepts; crypto experience is a plus.
• Strong Linux networking fundamentals in latency-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Own, operate, and optimize ultra-low-latency networks and data-center infrastructure for institutional trading and exchange connectivity across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Design and maintain routing, traffic-segmentation, and multicast market-data architectures using BGP, OSPF, VRFs, PIM, IGMP, and HA platforms.
• Deploy and operate firewalls and secure connectivity across Fortinet and Palo Alto platforms including IPsec/SSL VPNs.
• Drive observability and operational excellence with SNMP, gRPC telemetry, latency analysis, and network automation.
• Lead safe production changes, incident response, failover testing, and 24/7 on-call rotations.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with SRE/Infra, Product, and trading-system teams to improve reliability and velocity.
