Job summary

Coinbase is seeking an Infrastructure Lead for the Exchange team within Institutional to own the network infrastructure, deployment, and tooling behind a unified trading platform spanning cloud and on-prem environments.

You will design ultra-low-latency architectures, manage live incidents, and mentor engineers to improve reliability and developer velocity, with quarterly in-person surges and a remote-first culture.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of network, infrastructure, or SRE engineering in latency-sensitive environments.
• Expertise with multicast networking, BGP, OSPF, VRFs, and high-availability data centers.
• Experience leading live incident response for production trading systems.
• Familiarity with Fortinet or Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, and network automation.

Responsibilities

• Own, operate, and optimize ultra-low-latency networks and data-center infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Design and maintain routing, traffic segmentation, and multicast market-data architectures using BGP/OSPF/VRFs.
• Deploy and operate firewalls and secure connectivity (Fortinet/Cisco/Palo Alto).
• Drive observability and automation using Python or Ansible to improve efficiency.
• Lead safe production changes and incident response with on-call rotation.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with SRE/Infra, Product, and trading teams.
