Job summary

Coinbase is seeking an Infrastructure Lead for the Exchange team within Institutional to own the network, deployment, and tooling behind a unified trading platform across cloud and on-prem environments. You will ensure ultra-low latency, resilient networks and mentor cross-functional teams to improve reliability and developer velocity.

The role requires 8+ years in latency-sensitive infrastructure, experience with BGP/OSPF/VRFs, and hands-on firewall and automation work using Python/Ansible.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of network, infrastructure, or SRE engineering experience with ownership of production systems in latency-sensitive environments.
• Deep hands-on expertise with multicast networking, BGP, OSPF, VRFs, and data-center switching.
• Experience leading live incident response for production trading systems.
• Familiarity with Fortinet/Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, SNMP or gRPC telemetry, and Python/Ansible automation.
• Knowledge of exchange/electronic trading concepts; crypto experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own, operate, and optimize ultra-low-latency networks and data-center infrastructure for institutional trading across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Design and maintain routing, traffic-segmentation, and market-data architectures.
• Deploy and operate firewalls and secure connectivity across Fortinet and Palo Alto platforms.
• Drive observability and operational excellence with telemetry, latency analysis, and automation.
• Lead safe production changes, incident response, and 24/7 on-call rotations.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with SRE/Infra, Product, and trading teams.
