Job summary

Coinbase is seeking an Infrastructure Lead on the Exchange team within Institutional to own the network infrastructure, deployment, and tooling behind a unified trading platform across cloud and on-prem venues. You'll work to keep latency-sensitive, multi-node trading environments fast, reliable, and easy to build on, with startup-owned ownership and Coinbase-scale reach.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of network, infrastructure, or SRE engineering experience with production systems in latency-sensitive environments.
• Multicast networking, BGP, OSPF, VRFs, high-availability architectures, low-latency data-center switching, and physical network infrastructure.
• Lead live incident response for production trading systems and coordinate cross-functional resolution.
• Experience with Fortinet or Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, SNMP or gRPC telemetry, and network automation using Python or Ansible.
• Familiarity with exchange or electronic trading concepts; crypto experience is a plus.
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Own, operate, and optimize ultra-low-latency networks and data-center infrastructure supporting institutional trading across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Design and maintain routing, traffic-segmentation, and multicast market-data architectures.
• Deploy and operate firewalls and secure connectivity across Fortinet and Palo Alto platforms.
• Drive observability and automation using Python, Ansible, and telemetry.
• Lead safe production changes, incident response, and 24/7 on-call maintenance.
• Mentor engineers and partner with SRE/Infra, Product, and trading teams to improve reliability.
