Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an Electrical Engineer to develop and execute CAPEX roadmaps for critical electrical infrastructure across 24x7 fabrication facilities. Lead end-of-life retrofits, capacity expansion, and ensure scalable, safe power distribution systems to support high-volume manufacturing.

You will manage design teams, coordinate with project managers and operations, and apply industry standards to deliver robust solutions on tight schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited institution.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of electrical design or project experience in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of MV/LV equipment and protection schemes.
• Experience with MCCs, ATS, STS, transformers, and UPS systems.
• Knowledge of motor drives and VFDs.
• Proficiency with electrical codes and modeling software.
• Proven project management and design-to-construction experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present technical content clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, code compliance, and safety validation for power distribution.
• Oversee full project lifecycle from planning to delivery within scope and budget.
• Develop and review site-wide MV/LV electrical specifications.
• Create feasibility and conceptual design reports for CIP and RM projects.
• Provide engineering support during pre-construction, construction, and turnover.
• Manage external consultants, contractors, and vendors for new builds and retrofits.
• Develop sequences of operations for new systems.
• Apply SEMI F47, perform arc-flash analysis, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitor uptime and performance of site power systems; QA/QC deliverables.
• Participate in ISO 50001 audits and drive energy-efficiency goals.
