Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks an Electrical Engineer to join the Infra Electrical Projects Team in Austin, TX. You will lead CAPEX roadmaps for critical electrical infrastructure, oversee end-of-life retrofits, and drive capacity expansion for 24x7 operations.

Responsibilities include designing and validating power distribution systems, coordinating with external teams, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering projects on schedule and within budget to support world-class manufacturing.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering.
• PE license preferred.
• 2+ years electrical design/project experience in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of MV/LV (15kV–208V) equipment and protection schemes.
• Experience with MCCs, ATS, STS, transformers, emergency generators, and UPS.
• Knowledge of VFDs/motors and industrial comms protocols.
• Proficiency with IBC, IFC, NFPA and industrial electrical codes.
• Proficiency with ETAP and SKM for modeling.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, code compliance, and safety validation for power distribution systems.
• Oversee the full project lifecycle from planning to delivery within scope, schedule and budget.
• Develop electrical specifications for MV/LV distribution equipment.
• Provide engineering support during pre-construction, construction, and turnover.
• Manage external design teams and contractors for new builds and retrofits.
• Prepare sequences of operations for new systems and ensure uptime.
• Lead ISO 50001 audits and support energy-efficiency goals.
