Job summary

Sinclair College is seeking an Information Technology Technician (Off-Campus) to support 1,207 off-campus and 6,307 on-campus computers, handling hardware, software, and infrastructure for faculty, staff, and students. The role requires an associate degree and 1 year of multi-user environment experience, with PowerShell/Batch scripting abilities.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to pass a Prison Contractor background check.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and meet Sinclair's insurance requirements.
  • Thorough understanding of electronics, basic networking, and analytical troubleshooting strongly preferred.
  • Ability to resolve problems and complete tasks in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot notebooks and PCs to function on and off campus networks.
  • Build and distribute images for locations not using the Sinclair image; write/edit PowerShell, VB scripts, and batch files.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory by notifying supervisor of parts needed and coordinating purchases.
  • Install, configure, network, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware (NAS devices, peripherals, network printers).
  • Update off-campus imaging sheets whenever devices are imaged with off-campus image.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network cabling, switches/routers, wireless LAN and hotspots.
  • Install, configure, network, troubleshoot, and maintain software, Windows images and deployment tools.
  • Possess the ability to pass a background check and work in off-campus environments as needed.

The IT Technician position supports 1,207 computers used by faculty, staff and students at all off campus locations and 6,307 computers on-campus when schedule permits. This includes installation, maintenance and support of all hardware, software, and infrastructure necessary for faculty, staff and students to complete their work.

The salary for this position begins at $47,087.00 and is commensurate with education and experience.

  • This position takes care of all off campus emergency tickets
PCs and Laptops
  • Configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting notebooks and PCs to function on and off our SCC-NT network
Maintain Off Campus Imaging Server/s
  • Build and distribute images for all locations that do not use the Sinclair image
  • Writing and editing PowerShell, VB scripts and batch
Spare Parts Inventory
  • Participate in maintaining the spare parts inventory through notifying immediate supervisor of parts needed and the purchase of specialized parts for individual customers
Hardware
  • Installing, configuring, networking, troubleshooting, and maintaining
