Position Summary
The SinclairHVAC -R Technology Program develops well-rounded studentsprepared for careers or additional education in the HVAC -R field.Students in the certificate program are prepared for entry-levelcareers in residential and light commercial HVAC -R installation,with introductory training in service. Students completing theAssociate Degree are prepared for a variety of careers incommercial/industrial HVAC -R as well as to continue on for aBachelor’s degree.

This position is open only to applicants who residein Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or who are able to perform workwithin one of these states. Sinclair Community College restrictspart-time employment to approved states due to employment, tax, andbenefits compliance requirements.

Principal Accountabilities
- Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by thedepartment
- Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize studentlearning
- Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections inaccordance with department and divisional policies
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, useavailable instructional technology when appropriate
- Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategiesto meet diverse student’s needs
- Support classroom and online efforts to promote studentsuccess
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promotelearning
- Maintain accurate records of student progress
- Submit final grade rosters according to establisheddeadlines
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
- Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than themaximum of 12 credit hours per semester
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineeringtechnology or related field required, master’s degree in themechanical engineering technology or related field preferred;OR must meet the specific requirements associated withTested Experience: Tested Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of an associate’s degree in the content area or relatedfield required AND possession of the EPA 608 Refrigerant Handler’sLicense required when teaching courses involving the use andhandling of refrigerants
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant HVAC field experiencerequired
- Experience with Tridium Niagara Workstation and Elitesoft RHVACand CHVAC building loads software preferred. Experience with otherbuilding load and BAS software is acceptable.
- Evidence of successful prior teaching experience ispreferred
- Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning throughinnovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the courseand program level
- Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills withthe capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse collegecommunity
- Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educationaltechnology, including multimedia-based instruction
