Job summary

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The SinclairInformation Technology Department is seeking a full-time,tenure-track faculty member to join its Business and PublicServices Division beginning Fall 2026. This program providesstudents with a robust, hands-on education tailored to the demandsof the modern tech industry, featuring state-of-the-art facilities,experienced faculty, and a curriculum that builds practical skillsin cybersecurity, networking, and technical support while offeringflexible scheduling, valuable certifications, and strong industrypartnerships that connect students with local employers forinternships and job opportunities.

The successful candidate will be able to teach across multipleareas of Information Technology, with particular emphasis oncybersecurity, networking, cloud computing, and automation.Instructional responsibilities may include courses in networkinfrastructure and security, cybersecurity fundamentals andadvanced topics, including instruction in cloud platforms such asAWS and Microsoft Azure, and advanced PowerShell scripting andautomation for systems administration and enterprise environments. This position requires in-person instruction across all threeSinclair campuses, including Dayton, Centerville, and Mason, andthe faculty member is expected to deliver hands-on, appliedinstruction aligned with industry standards, certifications, andcurrent workforce needs, while supporting student success in bothtraditional and online learning environments.

This tenure-track role typically requires at least a 40-hour workweek which includes a course load of 15 credit hours per semester, and a minimum of five office hours per week. In addition to theseresponsibilities, the faculty member will be expected to performrelated duties including serving on department and collegecommittees, serving as an ambassador for the program, and mentoringand coaching students. Teaching assignments may include day,evening, and/or weekend assignments. The position reports to theChair/Program Administrator.

All full-time faculty salaries are determined by the Provost’sOffice and are commensurate with education andexperience.

This position is open only to applicants who reside in Ohio,Indiana, or Kentucky, or who are able to perform work withinone of these states. Sinclair Community College restrictsemployment to approved states due to employment, tax, and benefitscompliance requirements.

Principal Accountabilities Satisfactory performance of the Four Critical Performance areasrequired for all full-time faculty:

  • Teaching, Learning, and Student Development :Participate in the continuing development and implementation of thedepartment’s curriculum through teaching that reflects a strongcommitment to fostering student success. Through in-class andout-of-class initiatives, actively seek to advance the developmentof individual students and their capacity to meet their educationalgoals.
  • Scholarship and Professional Growth : Maintain and seekto improve currency and competence in the discipline and as ateacher.
  • Curriculum Design, Assessment, and Evaluation : Incollaboration with colleagues, actively contribute to thecontinuous review and revision of the department’s curriculum. Mustexhibit advanced computer proficiency, alongside the capability andtime-management skills required for the effective development andrevision of online courses. Implement evaluations tostates of standards and use assessment data to continuouslyimprove teaching and learning.
  • Workplace and Community Service : Contribute to theoperation and advancement of the college through committee serviceand other activities. Extend professional expertise to thecommunity served by the college.
  • Compliance with the terms and conditions set forth in theFull-Time Faculty Handbook and the Full-Time Employee Handbook
  • Teaching a minimum of 30 semester hours annually during theacademic year
  • Other duties as assigned
