Position Summary
The Automotive Technology Program is designed for studentsaspiring to become automotive service technicians in automobiledealerships, independent service facilities and auto-relatedindustries. AutomotiveTechnology is a challenging, high-paying career path, andit begins with your desire to succeed along with state-of-the-arttraining from Sinclair College.
Sinclair is currently seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty toteach in-person classes during daytime and evening hours at theDayton campus. The starting pay for Adjunct Faculty is $1,046 percredit hour.
This position is open only to applicants who residein Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or who are able to perform workwithin one of these states. Sinclair Community College restrictspart-time employment to approved states due to employment, tax, andbenefits compliance requirements.

Principal Accountabilities
- Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by thedepartment
- Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize studentlearning
- Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections inaccordance with department and divisional policies
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, useavailable instructional technology when appropriate
- Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategiesto meet diverse student’s needs
- Support classroom and online efforts to promote studentsuccess
- Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promotelearning
- Maintain accurate records of student progress
- Submit final grade rosters according to establisheddeadlines
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
- Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than themaximum of 12 credit hours per semester
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in automotive technology orrelated field required; OR must meet the specific requirementsassociated with Tested Experience
- Tested Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required AND
- Minimum of five years of experience in the field or industryrequired AND
- Must possess an appropriate industry license, credential, orcertification required. (ex. ASE certified)
- Evidence of successful prior teaching experience ispreferred
- Hold and maintain the Automotive Service Excellencecertification in the content area taught
- Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning throughinnovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the courseand program level
- Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills withthe capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse collegecommunity
- Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educationaltechnology, including multimedia-based instruction
