Job summary

McDermott Will & Schulte, a leading global law firm in Chicago, seeks an Information Governance Risk and Compliance Analyst. You will manage governance initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance and protect sensitive data across the Firm.

The role emphasizes client transfers, onboarding/offboarding of attorneys and clients, and electronic data management using iManage, ServiceNow, and other systems. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or at least two years of related work experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities.
• Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Understand and articulate obligations of the Information Governance Policy to Firm stakeholders.
• Resolve inquiries related to Information Governance policies and procedures.
• Coordinate identification, transfer, and collection of materials related to attorney departures, lateral acquisitions, legal holds, or client transfers.
• Transfer electronic records to/from the Document Management System (iManage) and related repositories.
• Ensure electronic data and metadata are imported, classified, and assigned to client/matter workspaces.
• Document and classify outbound (off-boarding) digital record transfers for due diligence tracking (ServiceNow).
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with attorneys during onboarding/offboarding transitions.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining best practices for technology and workflow processes.
• Develop and implement information governance compliance procedures, documentation, and internal controls.
• Coordinate security implementation for information in workspaces/folders within Information Governance systems.
• Support special projects as assigned.
