Job summary

McDermott Will & Schulte seeks an Information Governance Risk and Compliance Analyst to manage governance initiatives ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and policies. The role focuses on client transfers, onboarding/offboarding, and electronic record management across systems, with an emphasis on securing sensitive data.

The analyst will enforce compliance, develop educational materials, and collaborate with Legal and Business Operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or at least two years of related work experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities.
Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.

Responsibilities

Understand and articulate the information governance policy to stakeholders.
Resolve inquiries related to information governance policies and procedures.
Coordinate identification, transfer, and collection of responsive materials for attorney departures, lateral moves, or client transfers.
Transfer electronic records to/from the Firm’s DMS (iManage) and related repositories.
Ensure data and metadata are properly imported, classified, and assigned to client/matter workspaces.
