Job summary

McDermott Will & Schulte is seeking an Information Governance Risk and Compliance Analyst to oversee policies and programs ensuring regulatory and legal adherence across the firm. This role focuses on client transfers, onboarding, and offboarding, with emphasis on managing electronically stored information.

The position requires collaboration with Legal and Business Operations to implement technology, workflows, and analytics, while maintaining data security and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or at least two years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities.
• Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Understand and articulate the Firm’s Information Governance Policy to stakeholders.
• Resolve inquiries related to Information Governance policies and procedures.
• Coordinate identification, transfer, and collection of materials for attorney departures, lateral acquisitions, legal holds, or client transfers.
• Transfer electronic records to the Firm’s Document Management System (iManage) and other repositories.
• Ensure electronic data and metadata are imported, classified, and assigned to client/matter workspaces.
• Document and classify outbound (off-boarding) digital record transfers for due diligence in ServiceNow.
• Develop positive working relationships with attorneys during onboarding and offboarding.
• Utilize FTP server technology (Titan File), security controls (7-zip), metadata structure (Prosperoware Milan), and reporting tools.
• Establish client service relationships with Legal and Business Operations.
• Develop and maintain information governance best practices and internal controls.
• Coordinate security implementations for information in Information Governance systems.
• Handle special projects as assigned.
