Job summary

McDermott Will & Schulte is seeking an Information Governance Risk and Compliance Analyst to manage governance initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, and support client transfers, on- and off-boarding of attorneys and clients. The role focuses on electronic data handling, training, and the use of systems like iManage and ServiceNow.

The position reports to the Information Governance Manager and requires experience with workflows, analytics, and security controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or at least two years of related work experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Understand and articulate obligations of Information Governance policies to Firm stakeholders.
• Resolve inquiries related to Information Governance policies and procedures.
• Coordinate transfer and collection of materials for attorney departures, lateral acquisitions, or client transfers.
• Transfer electronic records to and from the Document Management System (iManage) and other repos.
• Ensure data and metadata are correctly imported, classified, and linked to client/matter workspaces.
• Document outbound (off-boarding) transfers for due diligence tracking (ServiceNow).
• Develop positive working relationships with attorneys and staff during on- and off-boarding.
• Support security, metadata structure, and critical system dependencies.
