Job summary

McDermott Will & Schulte LLP in Chicago is seeking an Information Governance Risk and Compliance Analyst to manage governance initiatives ensuring compliance with laws, regulations and policies. This role focuses on client transfers, onboarding/offboarding, and ESI management across the Firm's systems.

Strong collaboration with Legal and Operations is essential. The position emphasizes security, metadata accuracy, and cross-team coordination, with a discretionary bonus and comprehensive

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or at least two years of related work experience.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Understand all aspects of the Firm’s Information Governance Policy and articulate obligations to stakeholders.
• Resolve attorney and staff inquiries relating to Information Governance policies and procedures.
• Coordinate identification, transfer, and collection of materials related to attorney departures, lateral moves, holds, or client transfers.
• Transfer electronic records to/from the Firm’s Document Management System (iManage) and related repositories.
• Ensure data and metadata are imported, classified, and assigned correctly to client/matter workspaces.
• Document outbound digital record transfers for due diligence tracking (ServiceNow).
• Develop and maintain relationships with attorneys and staff to aid transitions.
• Develop and implement information governance compliance procedures, education, and internal controls.
