Job summary

McDermott Will & Schulte in San Francisco seeks an Information Governance Risk and Compliance Analyst to manage information governance initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance. The role focuses on client transfers, onboarding and off-boarding of attorneys and clients, and overseeing ESI with Firm systems.

You will work with Legal and Business Operations, enforce security controls, develop procedures and training materials, and support workflows, integrations and analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or at least two years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities.
• Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Understand and articulate obligations of Information Governance Policy to firm stakeholders.
• Resolve inquiries relating to Information Governance policies and procedures.
• Coordinate identification, transfer and collection of materials for attorney departures, lateral moves, holds, or client transfers.
• Transfer electronic records to/from iManage and related repositories.
• Ensure data and metadata are properly imported, classified, and assigned to client/matter workspaces.
• Document and classify outbound (off-boarding) transfers for due-diligence tracking (ServiceNow).
• Develop and maintain relationships with attorneys during onboarding/offboarding.
• Utilize FTP, security controls, metadata structures, and reporting tools.
• Establish client service relationships with Legal and Business Operations teams.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining best practices for technology/workflows.
• Develop and implement information governance compliance procedures and internal controls.
• Coordinate security measures for information in workspaces/folders within governance systems.
• Handle special projects as assigned.
