Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking an experienced Infection Preventionist to lead infection prevention and control projects across the hospital. Responsibilities include surveillance, staff education, and development of infection control policies to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Nursing or health-related field, with CIC certification within 3 years of hire. Master’s degree preferred; familiarity with NHSN and Epic is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Health related science; must enroll in Master’s program within first year if not already enrolled.
• Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) must be obtained within 3 years of hire.
• Familiarity with NHSN requirements is essential.
• Maintains state license and continuing education requirements.
• Strong familiarity navigating the electronic health record.
• Preferred: working knowledge with Epic.

Responsibilities

• Surveillance of hospital-acquired infection rates and reporting to relevant authorities.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and quality measures.
• Plans and delivers infection prevention education for all staff and contractors.
• Develops and enforces policies to ensure regulatory compliance.
