Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking an Infection Preventionist to lead infection prevention, control and education within the entity, collaborating with care teams to promote evidence-based practices and zero harm. The role supports regulatory readiness and annual infection prevention planning.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, 5 years of healthcare experience, CIC within 3 years, and strong communication and analytical skills. RN licensure and a Master’s degree are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a clinical field, public health, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a relevant healthcare or clinical environment.
  • CIC certification required within 3 years of hire and maintained thereafter.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail oriented.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams.

  • Develop and deliver infection prevention education programs.
  • Coordinate infection prevention and control initiatives.
  • Support regulatory readiness and patient safety goals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to reduce HAIs.
