Prime Healthcare Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL seeks an Infection Preventionist for surveillance, prevention and control of infections. You will support policy development, and ensure compliance with CDC/OSHA/regulatory standards while educating staff, physicians, patients and visitors.

Coordinate infection control activities with the Infection Control Committee and Medical Staff; respond to exposures and communicate with authorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medicine, nursing, epidemiology, microbiology, public health or related field (preferred).
• RN license by the state where the facility is located (if applicable).
• Current BLS certification upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum two years of healthcare experience; infection control/employee health preferred.
• APIC infection control courses desirable.
• CIC certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Surveillance, prevention and control of infection.
• Assist with policy development and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Educate hospital staff, physicians, patients, volunteers and visitors in infection control practices.
• Coordinate infection control activities with the Infection Control Committee and Medical Staff.
• Respond to exposures and liaise with regulatory agencies.
