Prime Healthcare’s Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin is seeking an Infection Control Preventionist responsible for surveillance, prevention and control of infection. Maintains regulatory standards and serves as an education consultant to staff, physicians, patients and visitors in safe practices.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field; RN license if applicable; at least two years in healthcare with infection control experience; APIC training desirable and CIC

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in medicine, nursing, epidemiology, microbiology, public health or related field.
• RN license if applicable; minimum two years in health care with infection control experience.

Responsabilidades

• Surveillance, prevention and control of infection across the hospital.
• Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures.
• Educate hospital employees, physicians, patients, volunteers and visitors on safe practices.
• Coordinate infection control activities with Infection Control Committee and Medical Staff.
• Respond to potential exposures and communicate with regulatory agencies.
