Job summary

Stantec in the United States is seeking a process or mechanical engineer, or engineer-in-training focused on industrial wastewater treatment and process mechanical design to join our Industrial Water team. This role offers guidance from senior engineers and exposure to global leaders in water and wastewater projects.

You will develop design documentation, CAD models, P&ID development, and assist with fieldwork and cost estimating.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering (ABET-accredited) is required.
• 1–3 years of process or mechanical engineering experience in industrial settings.
• EIT eligibility or ability to obtain in home state.
• Hybrid working arrangement may be available.

Responsibilities

• Supports design documentation, plans, and reports for project design elements.
• Executes assignments with intermediate engineering fundamentals knowledge.
• Develops designs through sketches and CAD models.
• Creates 3D models of process mechanical systems.
• Prepares facility layouts, diagrams, and P&ID development.
• Performs data gathering, calculations, and layout of facilities.
• Coordinates with other disciplines to ensure design intent.
• Assists with shop drawings, RFIs, and site observation reports.
• Contributes to discipline specifications and material evaluations.
• Participates in value engineering and basic cost estimating.
• Implements sustainable design principles.
