Job summary

Stantec is seeking an engineer-in-training or process/mechanical engineer for the Industrial Water team in a hybrid role. You will support design documentation, prepare CAD models, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across offices on wastewater treatment projects.

The position emphasizes teamwork, field exposure, and sustainable design, with opportunities to work under senior engineers and industry experts.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering.
• 1–3 years of process or mechanical engineering experience for industrial clients.
• Understanding of engineering document production and drawings vs specifications.
• EIT or ability to obtain EIT in home state.

Responsibilities

• Support project team in developing design documentation, plans, and reports.
• Prepare CAD-based design elements and three-dimensional models of process mechanical systems.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure design intent alignment.
• Review shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFIs, and assist with site observation reports.
• Participate in value engineering, cost estimating, and sustainable design practices.
• Visit job sites to gain field experience and develop practical engineering skills.
