Job summary

NuSil, part of Avantor, seeks an Industrial Security Director to oversee industrial security programs and lead the security organization supporting our aerospace/defense silicones business. Based in Carpinteria, CA, the role reports to executive leadership and requires a DoD TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (Political Science, Legal Studies, Computer Science, Cybersecurity) with 12 years of Industrial Security or related experience – or – Graduate degree with 10 years of relevant Industrial Security experience.
Detailed working knowledge of NISPOM / 32 CFR Part 117, NIST SP 800-53/171, DFARS.
U.S. citizenship required.
Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance required.
Demonstrated understanding and implementation of security programs and processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal skills.
Experience leading or mentoring other personnel.

Responsibilities

Plans and implements security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines aligned with corporate and government requirements.
Develops and guides program implementation to minimize security risks and losses related to personnel, facilities, and information.
Develops and supports information assurance and security programs focused on protecting classified and sensitive information.
Advises executive leadership and security personnel on risk mitigation and compliance requirements.
Interprets government security requirements and coordinates with customers and government representatives to resolve issues.
Leads security incident response planning and investigations in collaboration with relevant teams.
Develops security education and training programs to raise organizational awareness.
Leads a team of security professionals and ensures alignment with department goals.
