Job summary

NuSil, a part of Avantor, is seeking an Industrial Security Director to lead the security organization supporting the Aerospace & Defense silicone business. The role is based in Carpinteria, CA and reports to executive leadership.

Requirements include a Bachelor's with 12 years of Industrial Security experience (or a Graduate degree with 10 years), U.S. citizenship, and an active DoD TS/SCI clearance. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field with 12 years of Industrial Security experience, or graduate degree with 10 years of relevant Industrial Security experience.
• Detailed knowledge of NISPOM, 32 CFR Part 117, NIST SP 800-53/171, and DFARS.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
• Strong communication and leadership capabilities; ability to mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines aligned with government requirements.
• Develops and guides program implementations to minimize security risks to personnel, facilities, and information.
• Develops information assurance and security programs protecting classified, proprietary, and sensitive information.
• Advises executive leadership and stakeholders on security matters, risk, and compliance.
• Interprets government security requirements and coordinates with customers and U.S. Government representatives to ensure contractual compliance.
• Leads security team, ensuring KPIs are met and security actions are aligned with business priorities.
