Job summary

Motion Industries in Paducah, KY is seeking a Customer Service Representative for an industrial parts role. The full‑time position involves managing daily customer communications, sourcing and placing orders, and delivering outstanding service in a busy office setting.

You will handle quotes, order entry, and occasional counter sales, while building relationships to drive repeat business and optimize inventory and shipping processes. Training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 0–3 years of related experience.
• Reliability, organization, and attention to detail are required.
• Strong written and verbal communication; multitasking and time management.
• Moderate computer skills; using business systems and searching capabilities to find products on the internet.

Responsibilities

• Responds to basic customer inquiries regarding products, provides quotes, and handles order entry.
• Places customer orders via telephone, fax, email, electronic methods, or walk in (counter sales).
• Influences gross profit through negotiating the sale price and purchase price within approved parameters.
• May adjust non-contract customer pricing to meet customer demands while maximizing profit.
• Builds customer relationships to drive repeat business and drive process improvements.
• Orders items to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained for customers.
• May place orders up to $5,000 per line and $10,000 per purchase order without approval.
• Responsible for sourcing products in branch inventory, distribution center inventory or supplier inventory.
• Determines the most cost‑effective shipping method for customer orders.
• Partners with Account Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Expedites backorders; may pull inventory and prepare orders for shipment to customer.
• May handle customer returns.
