Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to install and troubleshoot industrial equipment across multiple sites in the region. The role involves reading blueprints, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring safe, compliant operation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Travel to various locations is required; candidates should have a valid driver's license and experience with hand and power tools, welding (MIG/TIG/ARC), and lockout/tagout procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Equipment maintenance knowledge – minimum of 6 months’ work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record is required.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics preferred.
• Experience using hand & power tools required.
• Lockout/Tagout experience is preferred.
• Prior welding experience including MIG, TIG, ARC, cutting, and brazing.

Responsibilities

• Installs and troubleshoots industrial equipment, systems, and components, including but not limited to washers, dryers, pneumatic and steam systems, conveyors, and boilers.
• Performs maintenance tasks in accordance with safety policies and procedures.
• Uses hand and power tools, precision instruments, and electrical testing devices.
• Ensures safe operation of diverse systems following blueprints, manuals, and specifications.
• Performs welding activities including MIG, TIG, ARC, cutting, and brazing.
• Travels to multiple company locations to perform maintenance tasks.
• Provides maintenance information to appropriate partners.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment; follows Lockout/Tagout and Confined Space procedures where appropriate.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
