Job summary

FedEx is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to support industrial maintenance of material handling systems. You will perform preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and PLC/controls systems, and may assist higher level technicians on complex issues.

Responsibilities include reading schematics, interpreting manuals, and using EAM software to manage data. A safety-focused mindset and flexibility to work varied shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certificates in Industrial Maintenance/Mechatronics, electrical or mechanical trade or related area and an associate degree in a related area preferred.
• Two (2) years experience in Industrial Maintenance/Mechatronics with competency in at least two specialty skills in mechanical power transmission, electrical, or PLC/Controls, with basic welding/fabrication skills required.
• Related military experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of material handling systems.
• Adhere to safety standards and participate in safety trainings.
• Interpret electrical or mechanical schematics, manuals and specs to troubleshoot and diagnose faults.
• Respond to sort calls to diagnose problems and perform repairs.
• Utilize EAM software to enter and retrieve prescribed data.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and PLC/controls failures.
• May assist higher level technicians on complex control systems issues and read PLCs.
• May develop scopes of work and project plans for small scale local projects.
• May work a flexible schedule including all days and shifts as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
