Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial equipment on a standard Monday–Friday schedule with overtime as needed. You will use tools, read blueprints, and follow manuals to ensure safe operation; training is provided on the job.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, a 2-year technical degree preferred, and proficiency with CMMS and MS Office. Valid driver’s license and ability to lift 80 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be 18+ and have a valid driver's license.
• Must pass maintenance knowledge assessment.
• Ability to read blueprints and maintenance literature in English.
• Lockout/Tagout experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand and power tools and precision measurement devices.
• Ensure safe operation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals and specifications.
• Troubleshoot equipment using testing instruments and observation.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing; adjust chemicals as needed.
• Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and repair as required.
• Record utilities meter readings and take corrective actions.
• Perform location/system safety checks and maintain equipment per procedures.
• Inspect, clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts.
• Use CMMS and perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
