Job summary

BlueScope Coated Products, LLC is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician in Middletown, OH. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing production equipment and developing maintenance programs to ensure reliability and reduce downtime.

The technician will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical components, plan preventive maintenance, and support safety and efficiency improvements across the line. A strong hands-on capability and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints, manuals and diagrams.
• Plan, implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs.
• Inspect, troubleshoot and repair mechanical components.
• Operate power tools safely and efficiently.
• Be able to read basic math and mechanical measurements.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and/or replace mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, hydraulic and/or pneumatic components in manufacturing equipment.
• Plan, implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs on engines, motors, pumps, pneumatic tools, hydraulics, conveyor systems and production machines in order to improve reliability.
• Perform basic welding duties, fabricating fixtures, jigs, guarding, etc. as needed.
• Install or assist in the installation of new equipment, including proper layout and alignment.
• Communicate repair steps, parts ordered, and ETA to plant personnel.
