Job summary

BlueScope Coated Products in Marietta, GA is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to keep production equipment running at peak reliability. You will inspect, troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, implement preventive maintenance, and support safety, quality and uptime across the coating line.

A high school diploma or GED is required, with 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience; technical training is preferred. The role is on-site with full benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical degree/certifications preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance position.
• Mechanical capability to repair and analyze production equipment.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment, overhead crane and rigging principles.
• Ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints, manuals and assembly directions.
• Proficient communication skills – ability to explain complex mechanical issues.
• Physically demanding work including lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Reliability and self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and replace mechanical components on production equipment.
• Plan, implement and maintain preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pumps, conveyors and machines to improve reliability.
• Perform routine, emergency and preventive maintenance.
• Study equipment manuals to develop audit items and maintenance schedules.
• Install or assist in the installation of new equipment and proper layout.
• Communicate repair steps and parts status to plant personnel.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety standards in work areas.
• Engage in cross-functional maintenance training and knowledge sharing.
