Job summary

BlueScope Coated Products, LLC is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair production equipment across our facility. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will develop and execute preventative maintenance plans to maximize equipment availability and minimize downtime.

You will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems, operate and maintain roll grinders, read blueprints and manuals, and work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with up to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Mechanical ability to repair/diagnose equipment.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment, overhead crane and rigging.
• Ability to read blueprints, manuals and assembly directions.
• Strong communication skills and reliability.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding work.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and/or replace mechanical components in manufacturing equipment.
• Plan, implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs for reliability.
• Perform routine, emergency, and preventive maintenance.
• Study equipment manuals to develop audit items and maintenance schedules.
• Perform basic welding and fabricate fixtures as needed.
• Install or assist in equipment installation and alignment.
• Maintain safe and orderly work area and equipment.
