Job summary

M&H Valve Company, a Birmingham, AL based manufacturer, seeks an Industrial Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair water and wastewater equipment. The role emphasizes diagnosing machinery, planning repairs, and ensuring safety across production lines.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, vocational certification in Industrial Maintenance or related apprenticeship, and hands-on hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, and rigging experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Completion of vocational certificate program in Industrial Maintenance or related program.
• Formal apprenticeship program completed.
• Two years’ experience in industrial maintenance required.
• Passing competency exams in mechanical maintenance focusing on hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, piping, lubrication, and rigging.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, operates, or tests machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
• Plans and lays out repair work using diagrams, manuals, schematics or other specifications.
• Requests equipment and supplies for maintenance and inventory.
• Dismantles machines to access defective parts using hoists, hand tools or power tools.
• Installs, replaces, or repairs machine parts according to production specifications.
• Cleans or lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.
• Records production, repair, and maintenance information in CMMS.
• Communicates with supervisor and team to coordinate installations and complete projects.
• Works on continuous improvement projects to reduce bottlenecks.
