Job summary

M&H Valve Company, a Birmingham, AL-based maker of water and wastewater valves, is seeking a multi-craft maintenance technician. The role involves electrical or mechanical path emphasis, troubleshooting, assembly, and rebuilding hydraulic and pneumatic systems, with a strong safety culture and hands-on repair responsibilities across machinery.

The position requires experience in industrial maintenance, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work with diagrams, schematics, and CMMS

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; vocational maintenance training preferred.
• Two years’ industrial maintenance experience or completion of an apprenticeship; or four years’ maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure personal and team safety; maintain a safe work environment.
• Assist supervisors and managers in safety and health.
• Wear PPE including fall protection, respiratory, hearing, and protective gear.
• Inspect, operate, or test machinery to diagnose problems.
• Plan and lay out repair work from diagrams and manuals.
• Request equipment and supplies to complete installation and repair.
• Transport tools and materials to job sites as needed.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions.
• Dismantle machines to access defective parts; use hoists and power tools.
• Install, replace, or repair machine components per specs; use precision tools.
